GARDEN BUDDIES

MATERIALS

  • Golf Balls
  • 1/4″ Dowel cut to 12″ length
  • Spray Paint – red and yellow (we used Krylon Superbond Paint & Primer)
  • Acrylic Paint – black and white
  • Paint Brushes
  • Googly Eyes
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Glue Sticks
  • Empty Egg Carton
  • Drill with 1/4″ bit
     

DIRECTIONS – BUMBLE BEE

  1. Set golf ball in an egg carton. Spray the golf ball with yellow spray paint and let dry.
  2. Turn golf ball over and spray the other side so the entire golf ball is yellow. Let dry.
  3. Drill a hole in the golf ball about 1/2″ deep.
  4. Insert the dowel in the hole.
  5. Paint a “face” on the golf ball by drawing a circle and coloring it in with the black paint. 
  6. Then paint the bee’s stripes.
  7. Using the white paint, draw wings and a mouth on the bee.
  8. Glue on googly eyes.
  9. Place your bumble bee in a flower pot and enjoy!

 

DIRECTIONS – LADYBUG

  1. Set golf ball in an egg carton. Spray the golf ball with red spray paint and let dry.
  2. Turn golf ball over and spray the other side so the entire golf ball is red. Let dry.
  3. Drill a hole in the golf ball about 1/2″ deep.
  4. Insert the dowel in the hole.
  5. Paint a “face” on the golf ball by drawing a circle and coloring it in with the black paint. 
  6. Paint a black stripe starting at the “head” and running down the “back” of the ladybug. 
  7. Add black dots on both sides of the line.
  8. Using the white paint, draw antennas and a mouth on the ladybug.
  9. Glue on googly eyes.
  10. Place the ladybug in a flower pot and enjoy!
